Stroll along the river to revel in the eternal glow of St. Peterburg's white nights |
During May to July, when the North Pole is tipped
towards the sun, St Petersburg's sun never dips far
beneath the horizon - even at night. The glow
adds a poetic shimmer to a fairytale Cityscape of
glided domes and spires. Although White Nights
are not unique to the city, St Petersburg enjoys
this eternal twilight in a particularly romantic style.
Forget madcap revelry, the common celebration is
a stroll along the River Neva, to relish a night sky
that is curiously, and beautifully, indistinguishable
from day.
