Sunset at Khan Tengri - Kyrgyzstan (Europe)
A deep shroud glows around the main summit at sunset

Located on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border in the heart of the Central Tian Shan (Mountains of Heaven), Khan Tengri forms the highest point on the Tengri Tag sub- range between the Northern and Southern lnylchek Glaciers. At Sunset, the marble-rich main summit boasts a deep red glow, giving the 7,000 m (23,000 ft) peak its Kazakh name "Kan Tau" - meaning "Blood Mountain". A short climbing season from mid-july to late August means this great challenge is often over-looked. Those that reach the top not only experience a truly unforgettable sunset, but also can bury a message in a capsule in the soil that contains words of congratulations from climbers through the ages.

Wreck Diving - Truk Lagoon, Micronesia (Australia/Pacific)
Dive amongst sea anemones and Japanese airplane fuselages

During World War II, Campaigns against the Japanese deposited a couple hundred thousand tonnes of steel on the bottom of True Lagoon in Micronesia. Today, on resplendent coral growth, old Zero airplane fuselages and wing sections can still be found - providing scuba divers with one of the worlds best wreck sites. The Fujisawa Mart's hold still contains wartime ammunition, Dai Nippon beer bottles, stern guns and well-preserved telegraphs. Magnificent air compressors, a machine shop and a telephone booth can be clearly seen in the engine room of this World War II craft amidst a sea of anemones.

Catwalk Over the Iguazu falls - Brazil-Argentina (South America)
A  succession of tumbling cascades that form a foaming cauldren
Some 275 tumultuous waterfalls tumble over the cliffs at the border of Argentina and Brazil to form a foaming Cauldron below a series of terrifying precipices - a convergence point dubbed the Devil's Throat Gorge. It is said that Argentina provides the show and Brazil enjoys the view of the Iguaza Falls - and is true that the cascades are best viewed from the Brazilian panoramic catwalks. These magnificent vantage points are reached via paths that snake through jungle rich in butterfly and bird life. Visit in spring when the mist and foam cause an almost permanent rainbow adding extra magic to the jaw-dropping views.
